Circa 1890's a really pretty faceted 'French Jet' brooch with a very captivating design and one that would have at the time likely been worn on the collar. French jet is a type of faceted Glass which was immensely fashionable in the latter 19th century due to its dark sparkliness and we love it for an evening time look. It would have involved hours of work to create each piece which would likely have formed part of a matching suite of immensely fashionable Jet jewels. Pieces such as this are a scarce find nowadays as so often they have broken over the years since they were made. The brooch measures just over 5cm across and fastens with a traditional 'C' clasp.
